Dear Georgia,
Hi. I'm Jessica. We've met a few times before... remember last February at the beach and March in that stranger's van? Yeah... those were good times. Apparently I enjoyed myself and I've decided to sign on for a bit more time. Say... six years.
Sound good to you? Yeah... I didn't think you'd be that excited about it.
My love affair with Nebraska has always been quiet and quite traditional. I adore the view as we drive by cornfield after cornfield every summer. Trying to find the best field and pointing out the worst ones. There's the corn. the cows. the beans. the hay. the hills. the windmills. the creeks. Ad nauseum. I've always enjoyed these things, each one separately, in its own way.
And now I've decided to move to Georgia. Why, you ask? Well, for school. I'm moving to be closer to the classes I'm going to take with the professors that are going to guide me and the classmates I'm going to slack with. Nebraska really wouldn't work for that.
But first of all, I've got some concerns. And I know just who to talk to about them.
1.) What's up with bugs?
2.) How are the skies? Do you have views or trees, because I've found you can't often have both... at least not enough of them.
3.) Where can I go on walks? Will they be scenic? Relaxing?
4.) When will I get to meet my "new best friend?" My "Jorge?" My "Mom?" Where are these people and when can we get the intro's lined up? I'll be waiting.
5.) What's up with the weather? I think this might be the biggest question (Georgia related... not new place related) and would like a timely response.
I'll give you 11 days. Then I need answers.
See You Soon,
Jessica
*** 10 days til I move. eep eep eep!
